Tencent Games today announced that PUBG Mobile 0.15.5 update would start rolling out from November 8. Also, the servers will not be taken offline for maintenance for this update, confirmed the game maker. Both Android and iOS users will get the update tomorrow; For Android, the update requires 0.21GB of storage space, while for iOS, it requires 0.24GB of space. It's a minor update for the game, but it will add a new Ruins map for Team Death Match Mode. Furthermore, the update is also expected to bring a new submachine gun called 'MP5K' for Vikendi map. And yes, on November 9, the Royale Pass Season 10 will also begin as the Season 9 will end later today. PUBG Mobile is asking the players to install the latest version as soon as possible to enjoy the new features.
PUBG Mobile 0.15.5 Will Be a Minor Update
PUBG Mobile 0.15.5 update will be a very minor one compared to the previous 0.15.0 update. In the previous update, Tencent Games introduced several new features including the much-awaited Payload Mode which allows players to roam in helicopters and attack enemies. Payload Mode also offers rocket launchers to destroy the helicopters and BRDM vehicle.
With this 0.15.5 update, PUBG Mobile will get a new map, but it's for the Team Death Match mode. To recall, Team Death Match mode was introduced earlier this year with only one map called 'Warehouse.' However, the mode will get a new map called 'The Ruins,' probably players will be spawned at The Ruins location in Sanhok map. We believe that the game will automatically give the map and there won't be any manual selection for the map.
Besides, we're expecting the update to bring new submachine gun called 'MP5K' in Vikendi map. "The new Update for 0.15.5 will be available starting November 8th, the server will not be taken offline for this update. This update requires approximately 0.21GB of storage space on Android and 0.24GB of storage space on iOS. Please update as soon as possible," tweeted PUBG Mobile. Since it's a minor update, Tencent Games will not be taking down the servers for maintenance unlike other updates for which the company took down the servers for six-eight hours.
PUBG Mobile Facing Serious Competition from Call of Duty Mobile
In other news, Tencent Games recently released the stable version of Call of Duty mobile for both Android, iOS devices. PUBG Mobile changed the entire mobile gaming scenario in India and several other countries. But it's now losing the charm despite the game maker trying its best to implement new features with every update. On the other hand, Call of Duty Mobile was an instant hit as the mobile game garnered over 50 million installs already. However, COD Mobile will take a while to enter the Indian e-sport scenario as PUBG Mobile is the rage right now.
Right now in India, PUBG Mobile Club Open Fall Split 2019 finals are going on at full swing in New Delhi. The Call of Duty Mobile was released just last month, so it will take some time for the game to enter the competitive scene like PUBG Mobile. Smartphone brands are even launching dedicated gaming smartphones every now and then with the current best gaming phone being the Asus ROG Phone 2 priced at Rs 37,999.
