OnePlus' data transfer tool, OnePlus Switch has recently received an update, which took the version number to 1.2. The major feature added with this version is application data transfer functionality. OnePlus now allows users to transfer application data from your old smartphone to your new OnePlus handset. The app also gets the ability to transfer downloads and office files as well. This is a much-needed update as most of the data transfer applications doesn't allow users to transfer app data. Furthermore, the latest update also optimised UI for improving the user experience. In the past, some users experienced 'data repeat problem,' which has now been solved and the update also added a new 'System stability improvement program.'
Announced back at the launch event of the OnePlus 5T in November 2017, the OnePlus Switch app allows users to migrate data from your old smartphone to a new OnePlus smartphone. The new update has brought down the app update size to 10MB and can be installed on Android devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop.
The OnePlus Switch app allows users to transfer data in a flash by scanning a QR code. Users can transfer data such as contacts, photos, messages, documents, videos, apps along with the app data and office files from their old smartphone to their brand new OnePlus device. The application has been well-received by the OnePlus users, thanks to its minimalistic interface.
In other news, OnePlus has rolled out the second Android P Beta to the OnePlus 6 smartphone, and it even bumped the OnePlus 3, 3T to OxygenOS 5.0.3. The OnePlus 6 smartphone also received OxygenOS 5.1.8 update recently, which is troubling some users with severe battery issue, but we did not face any such issues as our unit is also running the same version. Also, the OnePlus Launcher received Hiding Space section, allowing users to hide apps inside the launcher itself. The OnePlus Switch app can be downloaded for free on the Google Play Store.
