OnePlus is rolling out a new software update to the OnePlus 5T smartphone with bug fixes and no new features. The OxygenOS 5.0.4 update comes with two bug fixes, which users were complaining since the last update. Firstly, OnePlus fixed the no ringtone bug for incoming calls and notifications. In the previous update, there was a bug which annoyed several users as it didn't play a ringtone for incoming calls and notification, but that has been fixed with this update though. Another bug fixed in this update is the audio quality related issues during video playback.
Here's the official changelog for the update:
- Fixed NO ringtone for incoming calls and notifications
- Fixed Audio quality related issues during video playback
As always, the OxygenOS 5.0.4 OTA update is an incremental one, meaning it will reach a small percentage of users first, following which OnePlus will start the broader rollout of the OTA update. However, if you're annoyed with the existing bugs, you can always try out any VPN application and connect to Germany or Canada location to receive the OTA update right away.
Currently, the OnePlus 5T is running Android 8.0 Oreo-based OxygenOS 5.0.3 ROM, and it's amongst the few smartphones to run the latest iteration of Android. But the OxygenOS 5.0.4 comes after a long time, and the Chinese company is not actively adding new features to the smartphones. The OnePlus 5T is one the best affordable flagship smartphone available in the market today. Priced at Rs 32,999 for the 6GB RAM variant, the phone is available exclusively on Amazon India.
