Odata Breaks Ground on New Data Center in Brazil

Odata Continues Expansion in Latin America with New Facility in the Sao Paulo Metropolitan Region.

Odata Breaks Ground on New Data Center in Brazil
Aligned Data Centers company Odata has broken ground on its fifth Brazilian data center, DC SP04, in the Sao Paulo metropolitan region. The Latin American data center company announced the construction of its SP04 facility in a recent LinkedIn post. The details of the facility are not yet available on the website.

New DC SP04 Facility

"Today we celebrate another significant milestone in ODATA's history. We have officially broken ground on our next data center in Sao Paulo, the DC SP04. A huge thank you to all members of our Sangue Roxo team and to our partner Fonseca Mercadante Constructor, whose dedication and commitment have made this possible," the company shared in a post.

According to the website, the new facility will join the company's three existing data centers in the region—SP01, SP02, and SP03—as well as RJ01, which is under construction. Odata also has two operational data centers in Chile, one in Mexico, and one in Colombia.

In the region, DC SP01 offers a total capacity of 19.4 MW, DC SP02 has a total capacity of 40 MW, with 16 MW available and 24 MW contracted. DC SP03 has a total capacity of 3.2 MW. The Sao Paulo data centers DC SP01, SP02, and SP03 currently offer a combined capacity of more than 62.6 MW.

Odata's Recent Expansions in Mexico

Earlier this year, Odata announced expansion with two new data centers in Mexico. The company's first campus in the country, QR01 Data Center, is located in Queretaro and commenced operations in 2022 with 8.4 MW of installed capacity in its first phase. With capacity expansion, the campus can reach up to 32 MW when fully developed, the company said at that time.

The company has also planned two more facilities in Mexico, the DC QR02 campus in Guanajuato with a capacity of 30 MW, and DC QR03, which is being built in the city of El Marques, located in the center of the country, 221 km from Mexico City, with an installed capacity of 150 MW.

Founded in 2015 by Patria Investments, Odata was later sold to Aligned Data Centers in 2022, TelecomTalk reported.
