Number of 4G Smartphones Supporting Airtel VoLTE Surpasses 200

Airtel VoLTE is now supported by over 200 4G smartphones in India. Announced back in September 2017, Airtel VoLTE initially had less than 20 devices support, but exactly, a year later, the support has been extended to more than 200 smartphones. Popular brands such as Xiaomi, Samsung, Nokia and so on have added Airtel VoLTE software patches to its smartphones. Also, Motorola has added Airtel VoLTE support to its newly launched smartphones, after keeping them at bay for nearly a year. With Airtel VoLTE, users can enjoy HD voice calls through Airtel's 4G network. For the unaware, VoLTE or Voice over LTE allows users to consume data while on a voice call, which makes a huge difference to the users.

Airtel VoLTE Supported Smartphones List

As mentioned above, all popular 4G smartphones now come shipped with Airtel VoLTE support. Users of the bestselling 4G smartphones from major brands like Oppo, Vivo, Apple, Samsung, OnePlus, Nokia, Panasonic, Xiaomi, Karbonn, Lava and Panasonic can now converse on the HD quality voice calling offered on Airtel VoLTE.

Popular Xiaomi devices such as the Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi Note 5, Redmi 5 all have support for Airtel VoLTE. Motorola devices which are launched recently such as the Moto X4, Moto E5, Moto E4 Plus, Moto E4, Moto G6 Play and Moto G6 received the support too. Airtel has also been consistently ramping up its 4G capacity across the country to serve the fast-growing customer demand for high-speed data. In case of non-availability of the 4G network, Airtel VoLTE calls automatically fall back on the 3G/2G network to ensure that customers continue to stay connected at all times.

How to Enable Airtel VoLTE on Your Supported Smartphone

To get started with Airtel VoLTE, customers have to check the device compatibility first; They can do that by heading over to www.airtel.in/volte. If your device is on the list, then now it's the time for you enable the VoLTE on your device manually. Head over to Network Settings on your smartphone and look for Airtel SIM card settings. Enable the VoLTE switch and restart the device to enjoy HD voice calls.

Customers with dual-SIM handsets have to ensure that the Airtel 4G SIM has been inserted in the SIM 1 slot and network mode has been set to 4G/3G/2G (Auto). This is for the single 4G slot devices as most of the smartphones launching these days are coming with Dual 4G support. If your device is on the list and still you can't be able to find the VoLTE switch under network settings, then you've to check for the mobile device's operating software update.

Airtel VoLTE is Now Present Across 20 Telecom Circles

Another thing worth noting is Airtel's presence across 20 telecom circles. Except for Himachal Pradesh and Jammu Kashmir, Airtel VoLTE is present across all the other circles. Reliance Jio is still offering its VoLTE services in 20 circles.
