Collaboration with Google and Nvidia
NOS says that by leveraging Google Distributed Cloud and image and video processing enabled by Nvidia GPUs, its cloud-native MEC solution offers low-latency performance and high processing capacity, allowing for the simultaneous management of multiple applications. Initial use cases include video streaming and AI-driven computer vision, where fast data processing is essential for optimal performance.
NOS emphasised, "MEC is another step in the 5G evolution journey, which NOS has been leading in Portugal since the very beginning. We believe that this new solution will facilitate a series of applications that require real-time processing in key sectors such as healthcare, public safety and industry. We will continue to drive the country's technological development, using the best partners, such as Google Cloud."
