The phone was retailing with an MRP of Rs 26,999 for the 4GB + 64GB variant, whereas with a price tag of Rs 29,999 for the 6GB + 128GB storage variant. Another phone in this segment which was competing head-on with the Nokia 8.1 was the Poco F1. The one advantage which the Poco had over the HMD Global phone was the price tag. However, now things might have flipped in favour of Nokia 8.1 as the phone has received a recent price cut of Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 on its two variants. To know more about this price cut, read further.

Discounted Price Tag on Nokia 8.1 of Up to Rs 5,000

HMD Global has announced that it will be offering a discount of Rs 5,000 on its 4GB variant and a discount of Rs 3,000 on its 6GB variant. This means that the 4GB/64GB version of Nokia 8.1 which used to be available for Rs 26,999 will now be available for Rs 21,999. Whereas, the 6GB/128GB variant of Nokia 8.1 which used to retail for Rs 29,999 will now be available for Rs 21,999. It is also worth noting that in case you want to buy this device then it will be available with the discount till May 13, that is until today on the official Nokia shop. On retails stores, the offer will be available till May 18. HMD Global is offering this discount as part of “Nokia mobile Fan Festival, May 2019”.

Poco F1 vs Nokia 8.1: Which One is Better?

Ever since both the phones hit the market in India, they have been competing on many fronts. In case you are planning to buy the Nokia 8.1 in the coming days with the ongoing offer then the needle might have tipped in your favour since the Nokia 8.1 might make a lot of sense over the Poco F1 right now. HMD Global’s Nokia 8.1 offers an insanely attractive design which trumps what the Poco F1 offers in this regard.

On the camera and imaging front, the Nokia 8.1 offers the 12MP+13MP configuration dual rear setup, whereas the front facing camera is a 20MP one. On the other hand, Poco F1 comes with a 12MP camera with f/1.9 aperture and a secondary sensor of 5MP for depth shots with a 20MP sensor on the front. On this front, the Nokia 8.1 comes as a slightly better option.

Speaking of things which the Poco F1 does better, the phone being one of the rare ones to sport a Snapdragon 845 SoC under the Rs 20,000 price tag definitely does not disappoint in terms of performance. The device also ensures incredible gaming.

Verdict

With this recent price cut, the Nokia 8.1 certainly matches the ranks of Poco F1 in a much better way even while keeping the price point in mind. Therefore, if you are looking for an impressive Android experience along with some dashing design, the Nokia 8.1 might your next buy.
