The Nokia 8 is in the line to become the first flagship Nokia smartphone under HMD. While the unofficial launch of the device is said to happen on July 31, HMD is yet to confirm the release date of the smartphone. Ahead of the launch, the device is pictured in almost all the colours.
Firstly, we got a glimpse at the blue coloured Nokia 8; then we had the silver coloured Nokia 8 leaked, and now, the gold copper coloured Nokia 8 surfaced online. What separates today's leak is the previous two were just renders, the gold copper coloured Nokia 8 images are of a real life smartphone.
Even though they are the real life images of the Nokia 8, they aren't much different from the renders of the Nokia 8 leaked earlier. The Nokia 8 would be the company's first dual camera smartphone, powered by Zeiss. That said, the Nokia 8 looks identical to the Nokia 6 from the front with the Nokia branding on top, followed by a 5.3-inch Quad HD display, and a fingerprint scanner below the display, flanked by two hardware keys for back and recent apps.
The Nokia 8 will have the 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port, single speaker setup, and yes, it's entirely built by metal. The corners of the Nokia 8 are more rounded than the Nokia 6.
Internally, the Nokia 8 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, teamed with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. There could be a premium 6GB RAM, and 128GB storage option pegged for the year-end release.
The smartphone will have a 5.3-inch Quad HD display, which would be protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass technology. That said, the Nokia 8 doesn't feature any edge-to-edge display or 18:5:9 aspect ratio display like the Galaxy S8 or LG G6.
At the back of the phone, there are two 12MP camera sensors, powered by Zeiss. For the unaware, HMD recently entered into a partnership with Zeiss to power the upcoming Nokia smartphone cameras with Zeiss lens. The device might feature an 8MP front-facing camera.
As seen with other Nokia smartphones released under HMD, the Nokia 8 will also run stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat, with the Android O update to be released later this year. The Nokia 8 might cost 699 Euro (approx. Rs. 44,500). We will keep updating about the Nokia 8 once the launch date comes out.
