Finnish giant HMD Global is all set to launch its latest smartphone under the Nokia banner in India. The Nokia 7.1 in India takes forward the line-up of the Nokia 7 series. It's unknown which smartphone is HMD planning to launch at its October 11 event in India, but it will likely be the Nokia 7.1. This new phone comes with an upgraded processor, display compared to the Nokia 7, and offers better bang for the buck. The phone undoubtedly comes with Nokia’s feel all over it as it comes with Zeiss Optics lens, clean stock Android with Android One certification and the familiar design. However, the striking feature of the phone is the presence of the notch on the phone. Display

The Nokia 7.1 features a 5.84-inch IPS display panel with a 19:9 aspect ratio screen with a resolution of 2,280 x 1,080 pixels. The phone also comes with a notch, and there is also the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection over the screen. However, the one thing which is the real highlight of this phone when it comes to display is the HDR support. The Nokia 7.1 comes with PureDisplay technology which is something that smartphone brands have kept reserved for higher-end smartphones. However, with the Nokia 7.1 HMD Global will be offering an HDR display at a mid-range price point.

Performance

For processing prowess, the Nokia 7.1 packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset paired with Adreno 509 GPU. This setup comes with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM depending on the variant you choose. While the 3GB variant comes with 32GB of storage, the 4GB one comes with 64GB of storage. Users will also be able to expand their storage using a hybrid microSD card slot, which will allow expansion up to 400GB.

Zeiss Optics Camera

The Nokia 7.1 flaunts Zeiss Optics powered dual rear camera setup which comprises of 12MP primary sensor paired with a 5MP secondary shooter for depth sensing. On the front, the Nokia 7.1 gets an 8MP selfie snapper. On the rear shooter, the phone will offer bokeh mode while the front camera will also provide a live bokeh mode. Apart from this, the Nokia 7.1 will come with the Bothie function which allows users to record videos from both the front and rear cameras at the same time.

Android One

The Nokia 7.1 comes with the Android One certification and a clean stock Android experience which ensures bloatware-free Android. The phone is not bogged down by unnecessary applications and offers exceptionally smooth performance. Out of the box, the phone boots Android 8.1 Oreo, however, in the upcoming month, the phone will also receive the Android 9 Pie update. Along with that, Nokia has also promised monthly security patches and regular updates for this device.

Impressive Battery

The Nokia 7.1 comes with a battery of 3,060mAh, and it has also been equipped with fast charging support. As per Nokia’s claims, the 3060mAh battery will get the Nokia 7.1, 19.5 hours of talk time, 17 days of standby time, 14 hours of music and 8 hours in video playback. The phone will also be quick to charge as it supports the Fast charging feature.

Although the phone has been launched globally, Nokia hasn’t announced when it will be launching the phone in India. However, HMD Global has sent out invites for an event which is to be held on October 11. It is likely that the brand might launch the Nokia 7.1 for the Indian market on the same day.
