Nokia has launched a range of new smartphones in India this year. The company looked after by HMD Global has launched a new smartphone in the country on Friday, the Nokia 7.1. As the name suggests, the new Nokia 7.1 is the successor to the Nokia 6.1 Plus which was made official a couple of months ago. The Nokia 7.1 has been launched with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage in India for a price tag of Rs 19999. The Nokia 6.1 Plus, on the other hand, retails for a price tag of Rs 15999. The Nokia 6.1 Plus is already available for buying, the Nokia 7.1 will go on sale starting December 7 across “top mobile retailers across India and on Nokia.com/phones.” So, which one should you buy? Nokia 6.1 Plus vs Nokia 7.1: Display and Design
As far as the design of the two phones are concerned, both the Nokia phones come with glass body on both front and back panel, which overall gives a very premium touch to the phones. Additionally, just like most Nokia phones, the Nokia 7.1 and also the Nokia 6.1 Plus comes with bigger and brighter displays. As for the display specifications, the Nokia 7.1 comes packed with a 5.84-inch Full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19:9, in comparison the Nokia 6.1 Plus sports a 5.8-inch FHD+ TFT display with a resolution of 1080x2280 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9.

The Nokia 7.1 is one of the phones from HMD Global to come with Android 9 Pie out of the box. The phone runs Android 9 Pie based on Google's Android One programme, like most other Nokia phones. Android One means, the Nokia phone will be upgraded to the latest updates and the phone will get regular software updates. The Nokia 6.1 Plus is also an Android One device that was launched with stock Android 8.1 Oreo, but as the company promised the phone has now been upgraded to Android 9 Pie.

Both the Nokia 7.1 and the Nokia 6.1 Plus are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset. Additionally, both the phones come in only one RAM and storage variant. Both the Nokia 7.1 and Nokia 6.1 Plus come packed with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which is expandable to 400GB via microSD card.

Both the phones come with dual camera setup on the back panel and single of the front. As for the specs, the Nokia 7.1 comes with a primary sensor of 12MP paired with f/1.8 aperture and a secondary sensor of 5MP on the rear panel. On the front, the phone includes an 8MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. In comparison, the Nokia 6.1 Plus includes a 16MP primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP secondary sensor on the rear panel. On the front, the phone includes a 16MP sensor for clicking selfies. In both the phones, the selfie camera is fitted inside the notch on the front.
