Nokia, at the recently concluded MWC 2017 event has launched two new Android smartphones, the Nokia 3 and the Nokia 5, and also made the Nokia 6 global. The company, at the time of launch, confirmed that all the three phones would come in dual SIM variants, but the real question raised about the storage expansion in the phones, whether they come with a hybrid slot or dedicated microSD card slot.
However, Nokia Mobile in their official Twitter handle has cleared the news. When asked about the same by a fan of Nokia, the company replied that the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 dual SIM variants would come with a dedicated microSD card slot. But, that isn't the case with Nokia 6, though. The Nokia 6 also comes in dual SIM version, but it features a hybrid SIM card slot, which apparently means that you can either use dual SIMs or a single SIM and microSD card.
Certainly, the fans who are eagerly waiting to purchase a Nokia 6 will be hugely disappointed. The Nokia 6 standard variant features 32GB of internal storage, whereas the premium Arte Black Edition comes with 64GB of internal storage. But, there's no scope of the premium one reaching Indian shores.
That said, there are limited phones available in the market currently to feature dedicated microSD card slot. Motorola is constantly following this trend of embedding dedicated microSD card slot in their G series of phones, and now Nokia is following the footprints of Motorola.
Another highlight feature in Nokia phones is that they come with stock Android 7.0 Nougat with little customizations. Nokia already confirmed to provide monthly security patch updates to their phones, and recently, the gear maker quoted that they are planning to open several authorised service centers in India.
