Nokia 1 Plus Specs and Renders Leaked, Could Compete Against Xiaomi Redmi Go

HMD Global, the company which manufacturers Nokia phones has scheduled their Mobile World Congress 2019 event for February 24. During the MWC event, HMD is expected to launch the most talked about Nokia 9 PureView phone that is expected to come with five cameras on the rear panel. In addition to the Nokia 9 Pureview, HMD is also expected to announce the rumoured Nokia 6.2. It looks like that’s not just about it. A new report suggests that HMD Global is working on a new budget segment phone which is supposedly called the Nokia 1 Plus. To recall, the Nokia 1 was the company’s first Android Go phone. Rumours suggest that HMD could also announce the Nokia 1 Plus at the same MWC event on February 24 considering the key specs and some of the other details about the phone have now been leaked. Interestingly, the Nokia 1 Plus much like the Nokia 1 is expected to run Google Android Go program, but for the new phone, the software will be based on Android 9 Pie.




Nokia 1 Plus Renders and Specs Leaked

The full specs of the Nokia 1 Plus have been leaked, and alongside that, some renders of the phone have also been revealed. The specs sheet suggests that the Nokia 1 Plus will go against the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Go and will be priced much lower than one can imagine. The Nokia 1 Plus is said to come packed with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.

The leak coming from TigerMobiles further reveals that the Nokia 1 Plus will be powered by a MediaTek SoC for the entry-level phones, in contrary, the Xiaomi Redmi Go is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 425 which also powered the Redmi 5A and Redmi 4A smartphones. In addition, the leak also suggests that the Nokia 1 Plus will come with a low-resolution display, the exact specs information is yet to be revealed. What is almost assured is that the Nokia 1 Plus will launch running on Android 9 Pie but will be based on Go edition.

The leaked renders then reveal that the Nokia 1 Plus will come with a very basic design with a single rear and front camera, thick bezels on the front and more. Similar is going to be the case for the Xiaomi Redmi Go phone as well. Both the Nokia and Redmi Android Go phone will look like any other basic phone.

As far as the overall specs are concerned, the Nokia 1 Plus is said to come with a display with screen resolution of 480x960 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The leak further reveals that the Nokia phone will come with a screen density of 213 PPI. The display size is yet to be revealed. The leak suggests that the Nokia 1 Plus could be powered by powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6739WW SoC clocked at 1.5 GHz paired with 1GB RAM.

Nokia 1 Plus vs Xiaomi Redmi Go: Which Wins the Android Go Battle

The Xiaomi Redmi Go is said to be the Chinese manufacturer's first Android Go smartphone, but the leaked specs suggest that it compete against some of the best entry-level smartphones available right now. The Redmi Go is rumoured to come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and a 3000mAh battery. It's expected to launch with Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition), but the Nokia 1 Plus will likely ship with Android 9 Pie (Go Edition) out of the box.
