Lenovo-owned Motorola recently launched the Motorola One Power smartphone in India at a price of Rs 15,999. For the asking price, the new handset from Motorola takes on the Nokia 6.1 Plus and Xiaomi's Redmi Note 5 Pro because both all the three phones are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset. Particularly, the Motorola One Power edges out with its Android One certification, meaning it will receive timely software updates. It's already said that the Android 9 Pie beta testing for Motorola One Power is going on internally and is expected to go live to the public by the end of this year. The phone is now available in India via Flipkart and is selling like hotcakes. Here are the top five features of the Motorola One Power which is retailing in India for Rs 15,999.

Camera and Imaging

The Motorola One Power flaunts a dual rear camera setup, comprising of 16MP+5MP and a 12MP front shooter. The rear camera on the Motorola One Power comes equipped with dual LED dual-tone flash, and its primary sensor features an aperture of f/1.8 and 1.12-micrometre pixels. The primary camera comes enabled with PDAF, and it can shoot slow-motion HD videos as well as Full HD+ videos in 2160p quality. The front camera shoots in 1.25-micrometre pixels. It’s also worth noting that the Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with a 12MP+5MP dual rear setup which gives the Motorola One Power an edge over the Xiaomi phone.

Display and Design

The biggest highlight of the Motorola One Power, as one would expect is the notched display which comes with 6.2-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD and an aspect ratio of 18.7:9. The screen renders a pixel density of 402 pixels per inch, and the device is also splash resistant. The form factor of the phone is very slim and the thickness measures to be 8.4 mm, however, like other Moto phones, this one also weighs a bit on the heavier side at 198 grams. There is a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and the phone sports very thin bezels lending it a premium finish.

Performance

Most phones in the budget segment sport the MediaTek processor, which are although economic, but fail to match the level of Qualcomm Snapdragon processors when it comes to performance. The Motorola One Power, however, comes with Snapdragon 636 SoC with Kyro 260 architecture which clocks a speed of 1.8GHz. The SoC also comes paired with Adreno 509 GPU. This setup comes paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which is expandable to 256GB.

Battery

The Motorola One Power might be one of the very few devices which can defeat the Redmi Note 5 Pro in terms of power by sporting a 5,000mAh battery as compared to the 4000mAh one on the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The phone also comes with Motorola’s TurboCharging technology enabled by a 15W fast charger. The technology will allow the phone to go on for six hours with only 15 minutes of charging.

Android One

Like other Motorola phones, the One Power is going to come with stock Android experience with Android One certification meaning that it will be eligible to receive the latest Android security patches and new Android updates very quickly. Although the phone boots Android 8.1 Oreo right now, it will soon receive the Android 9 Pie update. The phone is also going to be free of all bloatware.

Motorola One Power Additional Features

Unlike the Redmi Note 5 Pro which comes with a micro USB port, the Motorola One Power will come with a modern USB Type-C port. There are also other connectivity options like 3.5 mm audio jack, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, and a fast dual-band WiFi.

Motorola One Power Pricing in India

Everyone expected that Motorola would price the device on the steeper side around Rs 25,000, but that's not the case as the brand launched the phone at Rs 15,999 in India. That being said, it's an online-only phone available exclusively via Flipkart.
