Motorola is now rumoured to release a new Play version of its Moto E5 series this year. A couple of renders of the Moto E5 Play now leaked online revealing the front design. The design of the smartphone is in-line with earlier Moto E4 devices and seems like the phone will have a metal body like the Moto E4 and E4 Plus. But the Moto E5 Play might be limited for Verizon in the United States, and the same phone is said to be released as Moto E5 Cruise for Cricket Wireless. Also, it is unknown whether Motorola is planning to release the E5 Play in other regions such as India or not.

Going by the renders of the Moto E5 Play revealed by Evan Blass, it will sport a 5-inch display, and the aspect ratio will be 16:9, not the trendy 18:9. The E5 Play has rounded corners and on-screen buttons. At the top, there’s a front-facing camera and an LED flash. However, Blass did not reveal the rear renders of the smartphone.
It is also said that the phone will have the fingerprint scanner at the rear inside the Moto dimple as we have seen with the Moto E5 render. This Moto E5 Play will have a single camera at the back along with an LED flash too.
It seems like there will be a huge strategy change from the Lenovo-owned company this year. All the renders of Moto G6 and Moto E5 series suggested that they will carry ‘Motorola’ branding and not the ‘Moto’ branding like the last couple of years.
