We're just months away from the official release of Moto G7 lineup which includes Moto G7 Plus, Moto G7, Moto G7 Power and the Moto G7 Play. Specifications of the four smartphones have been doing rounds on the web for a while now and the phones already visited various benchmarking portals. Since the inception of Moto G series, Motorola is releasing two and three smartphones every alternate year. The Moto G4 lineup arrived in Moto G4 Plus, Moto G4 and Moto G4 Play, while the Moto G5 devices include the G5 Plus and the standard G5. Last year, Motorola released three phones- Moto G6 Plus, Moto G6 and the Moto G6 Play. But this year, the company is going ahead and launching four smartphones under one series which we haven't seen from the company before. It's already known the news that Brazil is one of the most important markets for Motorola. The Moto G7 Power is already up for grabs across offline stores in Brazil. The official launch of the smartphone is awaited, but the complete specs are now out courtesy of the offline stores. The Moto G7 Power will have a beefy 5000mAh battery, Snapdragon 632 SoC and a notched display.
Motorola Moto G7 Power: Complete Specifications Leaked Ahead of Launch
Starting off with the design, the G7 Power seems to have a glass back- much like the Moto G6 devices. Up front, the device has a 6.2-inch HD+ display accompanied by a notch. Do make a note that the notch on the G7 Power is not the teardrop style one as it houses earpiece, proximity sensor and the front-facing camera. Underneath, the Moto G7 Power will have a Snapdragon 632 SoC, paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There could be another variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The phone also offers a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
As for the cameras, the Moto G7 Power rocks a single 12MP shooter on the rear side and an 8MP shooter is present on the front. It's surprising to see Motorola launching a smartphone with a single rear camera in 2019, but the phone is expected to carry a smaller price tag. The handset will run Android 9 Pie out of the box, which is one of the best things you could hear about an upcoming smartphone.
Lastly, the Power in the smartphone's name indicates a beefy 5000mAh battery underneath. Motorola might add its 15W Turbo Charge support to the G7 Power. The fingerprint scanner resides on the rear side inside the Moto dimple.
Overall, the Moto G7 Power seems to be a decent smartphone on paper, but everything depends on the pricing of the handset. As you can see in the image, the 3GB variant of the G7 Power is priced at R$ 1399 in Brazil, which is around Rs 26,600. However, if the phone reaches India, we could see it launching around Rs 12,000 or even less if Motorola wants to stay competitive in the sub-continent.
Moto G7 Series: What to Expect?
As noted, Motorola is launching four smartphones under the G7 lineup this year. The Moto G7 Plus is the premium variant and it's said to arrive with a waterdrop notch display, Snapdragon 670 SoC, up to 6GB of RAM & 128GB of internal storage, dual rear cameras, wireless charging and a decent 3500mAh battery. On the flip side, the Moto G7 will be a slightly less powerful version of G7 Plus with the same waterdrop notch display, Snapdragon 660 chipset and dual rear cameras.
The Moto G7 Play will be the least powerful variant of all the four and it will arrive with Snapdragon 625 SoC, 3GB/4GB of RAM and a smaller battery. The phones are expected to launch at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona and they might reach India in March 2019.
