Microsoft has been trying to make its Bing services popular for a while now. It has just launched the Venue Maps in India. Venue Maps bring the facility of providing you with navigation across 120 malls in the country and three major airports which are Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Let us tell you what exactly Venue maps are.
The Venue Maps are like you regular maps but they offer you interior and exterior floor-wise display of various malls. It is available as a layer on top of the current Bing Maps which has been integrated pretty well into the service. The cities across which the service is available for malls are Hyderabad, Delhi/ NCR, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jaipur, Chennai and Kolkata.
The Nokia Maps are the backbone of the service and Bing also uses information through the maps which may be placed on the official websites of various malls. You can read more about the service on the official website of the Bing Venue Maps.
A small touch which has further been added to Bing Search alongside it is that when people with Windows Phone search for local destinations, it will automatically provide them with the directions for the destination and there’s an option for voice guided navigation too. Google has launched indoor maps for 22 cities in India too so how could Microsoft stay behind?
