Redmond-based company Microsoft is now integrating Adblock Plus into the Microsoft Edge browser for Android and iOS. The ad-block integration will go live for users on Android Beta program later this week, and iOS users will get the same with a test program. Microsoft also confirmed the feature's rollout to the stable versions of iOS and Android would happen very soon. Furthermore, the best part is there's no requirement of installing an add-on to get this functionality as the feature can be enabled by heading over to the browser' settings page.

Recently, Google also integrated ad blocking service into the mobile version of Chrome for Android, but it's not as aggressive as the one present in other popular browsers such as Mozilla Firefox or Samsung Internet Browser. Mozilla's Firefox browser for Android also comes with a built-in ad blocker, but it gets activated only during the private browsing sessions. Samsung Internet Browser has an ad blocking add-on which can be installed to remove the ads for an optimised experience.

Seeing Google rolling out the feature to Chrome, Microsoft has come up with this step, and the company has partnered with Adblock Plus to make sure that the feature's integrated right into the application and not made available as an add-on. Having said that, this ad blocking functionality from Microsoft will surely be better than the one present on the Google Chrome.

Microsoft's Edge for Android has a long way to go for catching up Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Google's Chrome comes integrated with every Android smartphone and already has over 1 billion installs, while Mozilla Firefox for Android has been installed more than 100 million times. On the flip side, Microsoft Edge has so far garnered five million installs since the release, but one should accept that the browser was released just seven months ago in November 2017. Microsoft also released a version of Edge browser to Android and Apple iPads.
