8 inch tablets are slowly becoming the rage in the tablet arena and every budget manufacturer in the country wants to be a part of the same. Kobian has now launched a 7.9 inch tablet named the Mercury Mtab Air for Rs 10,999 in the budget tablet. Here's a look at its specs:

Mercury-mTAB-Air

  • 7.9 inch capacitive display with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels
  • Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
  • 1 GHz dual core Mediatek processor
  • 2MP rear camera and VGA front camera
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB internal storage which can be expanded further with the help of a microSD card by another 32GB
  • 3G via SIM card slot, Wi-Fi, Voice calling, Bluetooth and GPS
  • 3,800 mAh battery
  • Dual SIM capability

The Mercury mTAB Air will come with a 1 year warranty and would be available towards the end of February. The tablet has pretty much nothing compelling to make one go in for it other than 3G voice calling abilities. My suggestion, go in for the Nexus 7 32GB Wi-Fi variant which comes for a similar price.
