Meizu has come up with yet another smartphone in the M series, dubbed as the Meizu M5. The device is launched in China and is available in Champanage Gold, Sapphire Blue, Mint Green, Glacier White, and Matte Black color options. The phone It is priced at 699 yuan (approx. Rs. 6,890) for the 2GB RAM/16GB internal storage variant and 899 yuan (approx. 8,860) for the 3GB RAM/32GB internal storage model. Meizu has not revealed a timeline for global availability yet.
The Meizu M5 comes with a 5.2-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display and runs Yun OS with FlyMe UI on top. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz Octa-core 64-bit MediaTek MT6750 chipset and sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) clubbed with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. For connectivity, it features Hybrid dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, and GPS/GLONASS. A 3070mAh battery backs the device, which is touted to offer 66 hours of music playback on a single charge.
There is a fingerprint sensor onboard, which is embedded into the Home Button and is claimed to unlock the device under 0.2 seconds. The Meizu M5 weighs 138 grams and measures at 147.28x72.8x8 mm.
