LG unveiled its latest flagship, G4 last month, and the time of launch the company made no claims about the support for fast charging technology on-board, the company was even quizzed regarding the same at the time of launch, but there were no confirmations. Now, LG has come out of the hibernation mode and claimed that the G4 does have support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0.
The company later went on confirming that fast charging functionality is built in accordance with device’s Snapdragon 808 chipset, however, the power adapter that comes packed with the G4 does not support quick charging. So all that means that users will be required to use a third-party Quick Charge 2.0 adapter in order to charge their G4 in lesser time.
LG did give its take on the quick charge technology, it said,“At the end of the day, we see Quick Charge as a nice-to-have, not a must-have, since we offer a replacement battery. This is what we’ll continue to focus on.”
