Lenovo India has been teasing a new addition to the Note series of smartphones for quite some time through various teasers on its official social media. There were speculations earlier that Lenovo will launch the K7 Note next, however, a new teaser came out that suggests the launch of the K8 Note instead.
One teaser shows a math problem which when solved gives the answer 8, which indicates the possibility of the K8 Note as next phone set to launch. The company tweeted this teaser with the description "Not as simple as it looks! Solve & drop your answers to guess the name of the next #KillerNote!" While other tweet reads "Don't get stuck between the 1s & 0s. Your answer might reveal what the next #KillerNote will be called!"
Two days ago, the Lenovo K8 Note was spotted on the GeekBench listing, giving us a fair idea of all the key specs we can expect in the upcoming smartphone. According to the GeekBench listing, The Lenovo K8 Note scored 1659 and 4844 points in the single-core test and multi-core test respectively.
As for the specifications, the listing suggests the K8 Note will come with 4GB of RAM coupled with a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor, clocked at a speed of 1.39GHz. The handset is expected to run on Android Nougat 7.1.1 operating system with 4G compatibility.
Give Lenovo’s penchant to frequently release teasers; it did not come as a surprise when the company unveiled the phone’s launch date on its official twitter handle in yet another teaser today. Lenovo India tweeted earlier today that the Lenovo K8 Note will be launched on August 9, 2017, in India with the hashtag #KillTheOrdinary.
The company has successfully kept the pricing of the device under wraps, for now, however, we won’t have to wait much longer since the launch is scheduled on August 9.
The Lenovo K8 Note will be the successor of the Lenovo K6 Note that was launched last year at Rs. 13,999. The K6 Note sports a 5.5-inch display with Full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC under the hood, accompanied by an Adreno 505 GPU. The Lenovo K6 Note comes in two different storage variants, one with 3GB of RAM and the other one with 4GB of RAM. Additionally, the phone comes with 32GB of internal storage with the option of storage expansion up to 128GB via the microSD card slot. The handset runs on Android Nougat out of the box and is backed up by a 4,000mAh battery. The K6 Note flaunts a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies.
