Since the past few days, rumours about an upcoming high-end Nokia 8 smartphone have been the talk of the town, and recently we have seen a few leaks giving away some of the key specs and design of the smartphone.
As time goes by, these leaks keep getting more interesting, and this time, there is one straight from the company itself. A new image has been leaked online, and it is reported to be a screenshot of an official listing of the Nokia 8 on the company’s website.
The authenticity of this leak is still in question like this “accidental” listing of the HMD flagship smartphone was later taken down, however, the image looks pretty much legit. Following the recent rumours about the launch date and now this leak, we can assure you that the launch of the Nokia 8 is imminent. HMD Global is expected to unveil the Nokia 8 smartphone on July 31, 2017.
As for the specifications of the device, the Nokia 8 is rumoured to sport a 5.3-inch Quad-HD display. Under the hood, the Nokia 8 will supposedly come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC clubbed with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device is also expected to be available in 6GB option as well.
Running on Android Nougat 7.1.1 out of the box, HMD has announced that the device will receive the upcoming Android O and Android P updates once they are officially rolled out by Google. When it comes to the camera aspect of the phone, the Nokia 8 is believed to come with a dual 13MP rear camera setup by Zeiss optics with LED flash.
A recent leak of the Nokia 8 design renders hinted at the vertical placement of the camera setup on the back panel alongside the flash. The same leak also suggested that the handset will come in Silver and Blue colour variants. The rest of the device specs are still unknown, as is the pricing and availability of the upcoming Nokia 8.
Since the official launch is not too far away, we might have to wait for the unveiling of the device or rely on more rumours that might come our way before the launch happens.
