Lava Iris 505 and 506Q launched for Rs 8,999 and Rs 11,700: A Brief Overview

Lava has been known for manufacturing easily affordable and very functional smartphone devices. It manufactures premium phones under the Xolo label and budget smartphones under its own name. Two of its latest products are Lava Iris 505 and Lava Iris 506Q.

Let us give you a brief overview of both the smartphones:




Lava Iris 505:
* It is a dual SIM smartphone. Its dimensions are 149.6 x 75.9 x 9.5mm.
* It comes with a 5 inch capacitive touch display.
* It is powered by a dual core processor of 1.2 Giga Hertz.
* It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean version.
* It comes with a rear camera of 5MP and a VGA front camera. It offers LED flash, Smile/ face detection, 99 continuous shots and Panorama features.
* It carries a RAM of 512 MB, inbuilt memory of 4 GB and expandable memory of 32 GB.
* It has been equipped with a Li-ion battery of 2000 mAh.
* It offers connectivity options, such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, micro USB, GPRS, EDGE and 3G.
* It features Gesture control, loudspeaker and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
* Lava Iris 505 is now available online for Rs. 8, 999. At such a decent price, it is a pretty good device.

Lava Iris 505 50Q

Lava Iris 506Q:
* It is a dual SIM smartphone. The dimensions of this device are 143 x 73 x 8.90 mm.
* It comes with a capacitive TFT touch display of 5 inches and 540 x 960 pixels resolution.
* It has a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor doing duty inside it.
* It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean version.
* It features a primary camera of 5 mega pixels with LED flash, digital zoom, auto focus, geo tagging, smile detection and HDR mode. It also has a secondary camera of 0.3 mega pixels.
* It comes with a RAM of 512 MB and internal memory of 4 GB.
* It features an accelerometer, light sensor, IR gesture, proximity sensor, FM, speaker and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
* The connectivity options included in this device are Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPRS, GPS, micro USB, EDGE and 3G.
* It works on a battery of 2000 mAh.
* Lava Iris 506Q has been launched at the price of Rs. 11,700.

Our Take: Both these smartphones offer quite a lot of value for money and offer gesture controls which none of the other devices in a similar price band offer. So it’s a thumbs up from my side unless Lava screws it up with a poor after sales service.
