JioFiber plans are now official and the company has delivered them on September 5, as promised at the Annual General Meeting last month. JioFiber broadband plans aren’t that impressive, at least the plans priced below Rs 1,000 offer very limited FUP, but the plans ship with free fixed-line voice calling service and a 4K Set-Top Box. We have already detailed the 4K Set-Top Box and its features, but what’s interesting is the company’s landline calling service dubbed JioFixedVoice. It’s not a new thing to see broadband operators providing landline calling service to the customers as Airtel and BSNL have been doing it for years now. However, the Mukesh Ambani-owned company’s JioFixedVoice service even allows users to make voice calls on up to six smartphones through the JioCall mobile app, subjected if the smartphones are connected JioFiber router provided by the company. Read onto know more details on this.

How to Activate JioFixedVoice Landline Service on MyJio App?

Reliance Jio is providing the JioFixedVoice landline calling service to all the JioFiber customers. But there’s a small procedure involved to get the service activated. First of all, a user will have to download the MyJio on their smartphone and log into the JioFiber account using register mobile number. Make sure you’re logging into MyJio app using JioFiber registered mobile number and not any other mobile number. After logging in, you can easily activate voice calling service by following the on-screen steps.

JioCall Setup Process on Smartphones Detailed

Aforesaid, Reliance Jio allows users to make voice calls for free on smartphones using the JioFixedVoice connection. For the unaware, Reliance Jio has an application called JioCall which acts as an alternate dailer on smartphones, but in this case, JioCall app allows users to register through the JioFixedVoice ten-digit landline number for making voice calls.

To get started, download the JioCall app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store for free. After downloading, give all the permissions required by the app to proceed further. The application will now provide three options at the first boot for the setup process- a Jio 4G SIM card, JioFi connection and Fixed landline service. If your smartphone lacks VoLTE service, you can choose the first option; If you want to make voice calls through your JioFi number, you can choose the second option, and lastly, if you have a JioFixedVoice service, you can click the third option to get started.

After hitting the Fixed option, ‘Tap on the SSID’ to register. The app will now require an OTP which will be sent to your JioFiber registered mobile number. You’re all set to make voice calls from your smartphone for free using the JioFixedVoice landline number. Reliance Jio is allowing users to set up JioCall app on six smartphones using the JioFixedVoice single number.

But there’s a small catch. The smartphone on which the JioCall app has installed should stay connected to the JioFiber router to make and receive free calls. This is one of its unique services from Reliance Jio and it’s pretty much similar to BSNL Wings as well.

All JioFiber Broadband Plans Ship With Free JioFixedVoice Service

Reliance Jio already revealed its broadband plans on September 5, as it promised last month. JioFiber plans start at Rs 699 and they go all the way up to Rs 8,499, offering speeds between 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps. It’s great to see even the base plan of JioFiber ships with 100 Mbps speeds, however, the FUP limit is on the lower side. All the JioFiber plans also come with free JioFixedLine service and there’s no FUP limit on the voice calls as well. Furthermore, JioFiber customers will get a 4K Set-Top Box while choosing the connection.
