Jio Inks Five-Year Partnership With Star India, To Stream All Cricket Matches of Indian Team on JioTV

Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Jio today announced a five-year deal with Star India. As part of the partnership, Jio and Star India will make all the televised Indian Cricket matches available to users of JioTV and Hotstar in India. This partnership will cover all the T20, ODI (One Day Internationals), International Test Cricket and Premier Domestic Competitions of the BCCI. Reliance Jio wants to lure all the cricket lovers out there with this move. "Not just this, for the first time, cricket production, a streaming platform and a high-speed data network have come together to deliver the best of cricketing content with connectivity to benefit the Indian consumers," said Jio in a media statement.

Reliance Jio and Star India Partnership Details

The partnership between Jio and Star India is for five years and during this period, all the Cricket matches of Indian team will be live streamed on JioTV. During this year's IPL, Jio ran into a partnership with Hotstar and offered free streaming of all IPL matches on JioTV. But that deal was only for the Indian Premier League, but this time around, Jio has established a partnership with Star India for five years, which means that JioTV will stream all the BCCI Cricket matches.

“Jio continues to bring the most exclusive content to its users, this time around through the JioTV app. Cricket is not just played, its worshipped in India. Every Indian must have access to the best sporting events as well as quality and affordable bandwidth to consume the content. With this partnership, we intend to address both these objectives of providing the best sporting content with the best digital infrastructure to the Jio users. Jio promises to and will continue to bring a superlative customer experience in the areas of sports, AR, VR, Immersive viewing and more in the coming days,” said Mr Akash Ambani, Director, Jio.

Right now, India is playing Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates alongside other teams such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, Srilanka, Hong Kong and Afghanistan. And all the Asia Cup matches will be live streamed on JioTV for free.

How to Watch Asia Cup on JioTV?

At the moment, the Indian Cricket Team is playing Asia Cup in UAE. All the matches will be live streamed on JioTV application. First of all, to watch the Asia Cup matches live on JioTV, head over to Google Play Store or Apple App Store to download the app for free and login with your Jio account. If you're using a Jio 4G connection, then the app will automatically login for you. If you're on a Wi-Fi connection, then you've to log into the app manually by entering your Jio 4G number and then entering the OTP.

Once you log into the app, you'll be presented with Star Sports channel if any Indian Cricket team's live match is going on. Otherwise, you can head over to Sports section to watch what Star India is broadcasting right now.
