Intex Indie 5 entry-level smartphone has been launched by the domestic smartphone company in India. The Intex Indie 5 comes after the launch of Indie 3 and Indie 33 smartphones, but the Indie 5 sports a massive 4000mAh battery at a price of less than Rs 5,000. The smartphone will be available in a single Black colour option across all the leading online and offline stores. The price of the smartphone has been set at Rs 4,999, and the phone has a selfie flashlight as well for those who're worried about the selfies in low light.

Intex Indie 5 specifications

Intex has added decent specifications to the Indie 5. The smartphone flaunts a 5-inch HD display on the front, carrying a resolution of 720x1280 pixels and 16:9 aspect ratio. Yes, the phone does not have the trendy 18:9 aspect ratio. The display itself is an IPS panel with 2.5D curved glass and Dragontrial protection. Under the hood, the Indie 5 has the MediaTek MT6737 chipset, clubbed with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage.

For those who're worried about the storage, Intex has added a microSD card slot as well allowing users to expand the storage up to 128GB. The phone comes with connectivity options such as 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS and a micro USB port.

The USP of the Intex Indie 5 is the massive 4000mAh battery, which is a rare feature to see on the smartphones priced around Rs 5,000. The device boasts an 8MP primary shooter on the rear and an 8MP selfie camera; Both the cameras are accompanied by an LED flashlight. The phone measures 10.1mm in thickness and weighs 162 grams.
