Intex has announced an affordable 4G-equipped smartphone, the Intex Aqua 4G Strong, for a price of Rs. 4,499. In addition, the device also supports voice over LTE (VoLTE), which means that it will be compatible with upcoming 4G services by various service providers in India. The device is now listed on Intex's official website, however, there is no detail regarding its availability yet. As per the listing, the Aqua 4G Strong supports FDD 1800MHz (Band 3) and TDD 2300MHz (Band 40).
The company has been adding devices in its 4G-enabled lineup of smartphones, mostly priced under sub-10k budget. In February, it launched the Intex Aqua Raze and Intex Aqua Wing for a price of Rs. 5,199 and Rs. 4,599 respectively.
Coming on to the specifications, the Aqua 4G Strong boasts a 4-inch WVGA display with a 480x800 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 233ppi. The dual-SIM device runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and is powered by a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT6735M) chipset coupled with 768MB of RAM. It comes with 4GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. In the imaging department, it sports 2-megapixel primary camera with LED flash and a VGA front camera. It is backed by a 1700mAh battery, which is touted by the company to deliver up to 6 hours of talk time and up to 240 hours standby time. In terms of connectivity, the device supports GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, VoLTE, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, and GPS.
Given the price and specs, the Intex Aqua 4G Strong will rival smartphones such as ZTE Blade Qlux 4G, Lenovo A2010, Phicomm Energy 653, Swipe Elite 2, which were launched under a price tag of Rs. 5,000.
