Early Adoption of GitHub Copilot
According to the official release, the collaboration began with Infosys becoming an early adopter of GitHub Copilot, resulting in significant efficiencies in code modernisation and completion.
"Infosys is a top GitHub Copilot 'customer zero,' with over 18,000 developers currently generating and using more than 7 million lines of code from Copilot," Infosys said.
Coupled with the recently launched GitHub Center of Excellence (CoE), Infosys claims it is uniquely positioned to offer enterprise AI innovation to customers around the world.
Supplier Role in Cloud and AI Workloads
Under the new agreement, Infosys has been chosen as a strategic supplier to support cloud and AI workloads for Microsoft's enterprise customers. Infosys will infuse Microsoft's generative AI suite of offerings across its Solution IP portfolio to bring unique capabilities to market, helping clients achieve cost-efficiency, scalability, and agility.
In conjunction with Microsoft's technology and Infosys's own AI and cloud suite offerings—Topaz, Cobalt, and its AI-powered marketing suite Aster—the collaboration will enhance customer experiences and drive the global adoption of enterprise AI, the official release said.
Focus on Responsible AI Practices
Solutions from this partnership will be available on the Azure Marketplace, allowing customers to utilise their Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC). Additionally, both companies are focusing on sharing best practices for responsible AI, with Infosys contributing to ethical AI guidelines through its Responsible AI (RAI) Office.
