Huawei MateBook X Pro Announced as World’s First FullView Touchscreen Display Laptop

Chinese tech giant, Huawei, at its press conference in Barcelona announced a new MateBook, namely, the Huawei MateBook X Pro. As the name itself suggests, Huawei is putting the MateBook X Pro against the Apple's MacBook Pro. Huawei is touting this laptop as the World's first FullView Touchscreen display laptop as it offers 91% screen real estate as compared to 82% in the latest MacBook Pro. It sports metal body, light in weight at 1.3 kg, latest Intel high-end processors and much more.

The Huawei MateBook X Pro comes in a 13.3-inch display model with 450 nits with a sRGB gamut, 1500:1 contrast ratio and a resolution of 3000 x 2000 that further extends to a pixel density of 268 PPI. The display is a touchscreen one and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass technology. This is the first Huawei MateBook to have a touchscreen display. Talking about the build and design, the MateBook X Pro offers metal unibody with sandblast finish with diamond cut edges. And as stated, it's light in weight at 1.33 kg. The MateBook X Pro ranges from 14.6mm in the back down to 4.9mm at the front. The laptop will be made available in Space Grey and Mystic Silver colour options.

The hardware side of things, the MateBook X Pro comes with the latest generation Intel CPU with the intelligent cooling system. It will ship with latest Intel Core i7 8th gen processor and comes with a GeForce MX150 graphics card with up to 4x better performance compared to integrated graphics. It also offers quad speakers with treble tweeters and subwoofers. And Huawei also integrated the Dolby Atmos experience technology in the latest MateBook X Pro.

Huawei promises 12 hours video playback, 14 hours office work, and 15 hours of web browsing with the new MateBook. The battery is of 57.4Wh capacity. Huawei has added a One-Touch Power button to the new MateBook as it comes with a fingerprint scanner embedded into it. And the keyboard is fully backlit, and it's a spillproof one too.

Other highlights in the MateBook X Pro include the camera position. Huawei has cleverly integrated the camera into a popup button alongside the function keys on the keyboard. Connectivity options in the MateBook X Pro include a USB-A port, two USB-C ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Huawei has done an excellent job by adding a USB-A port to the laptop. And lastly, it runs the latest Windows 10 operating system along with some Huawei features such as Huawei Share, Instant Translator from Microsoft and so on.

Pricing and availability details are yet to be announced.
