For quite some time now, Huawei' sub-brand Honor has been teasing the launch of its latest affordable flagship smartphone and successor to last year Honor V9, the Honor V10. The smartphone retains the gorgeous design from its predecessor and comes with the Huawei Mate 10's internals. The device, for now, will be available only in China, but Honor has scheduled a launch event in the US on December 5, and yesterday, a rumour suggested that the brand will launch the V10 in India in January 2018.

Like the Huawei Mate 10 series, the Honor V10 also comes with special Artificial Intelligence features, thanks to the Huawei's in-house HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC. Talking about the specifications of the Honor V10, it flaunts a 5.99-inch Full HD+ 18:9 FullView display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels.

At the heart of the phone, the Honor V10 has the Kirin 970 SoC, which is an octa-core chipset built on top of the 10nm manufacturing process. Also, the Kirin 970 SoC has special neural network processing engine for AI. The chipset is mated with 6GB of RAM. There's a smaller 4GB of RAM variant as well.

Thankfully, the Honor V10 runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, but it comes with Huawei's EMUI 8 skin on top. Optics in the V10 include two sensors at the back- a primary 16MP RGB sensor and a 20MP secondary monochrome sensor. The device also offers a Portrait mode, and a 13MP sensor is present on the front of the phone.

Even though using an 18:9 display, Huawei has managed to keep the fingerprint scanner on the front of the phone. The device measures 6.97mm and weigh 172 grams. Connectivity options in the smartphone include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. A 3750mAh battery backs this entire package.

The pricing of the smartphone is also revealed. The device will be available in four colour options- Aurora Blue, Red, Gold, and Black. The 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant is priced at 2699 Yuan (approx Rs 26,400); the 6GB RAM/64GB storage model costs 2999 Yuan (approx Rs 29,300), and the premium 6GB RAM/128GB storage model costs 3499 Yuan (approx. Rs 34,200). The device is up for pre-order in China and will be available starting December 5.

Huawei will launch the Honor V10 as Honor 9 Pro in other countries such as the US, India, etc. If Huawei manages to launch the device in India in January 2018, it will give a good fight to the OnePlus 5T.
