Honor 9X Pro Likely to Pack Triple Rear Cameras and Pop-Up Selfie Camera

Last week, we saw a pencil sketch render of the Honor 9X leaking online, and this week, we have the Honor 9X Pro's pencil sketch render coming out. Courtesy of Evan Blass, we have got our first look at the Honor 9X Pro which will be launching alongside the Honor 9X in China on July 23. Like the Honor 9X, the Honor 9X Pro will also feature a pop-up selfie camera, but on the rear side, the latter will have triple rear cameras which have become a norm with mid-range smartphones launching these days. In addition, the Honor 9X Pro will also have an in-display fingerprint scanner, again a feature that will be present on the Honor 9X as well. At the moment, it's unknown whether Honor will use the same chipset on both the phones or a different one as it did with the Honor 8X series.

Honor 9X Pro: What to Expect?

The Honor 9X Pro, as the name itself suggests, will be a beefed up version of the Honor 9X. In 2018, Honor launched the Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max smartphones, but the Chinese company went with two different chipsets. The Honor 8X arrived with HiSilicon Kirin 710 chipset, while the 8X Max featured the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC. Honor already confirmed the 9X would feature the newly launched HiSilicon Kirin 810 chipset, but there's no info on the Honor 9X Pro though.

Talking about the pencil sketch render leaked today, it shows the Honor 9X Pro will house three cameras on the rear side placed vertically. The bottom of the phone houses 3.5mm headphone jack, and to the top left, there's a pop-up selfie camera. There's no physical fingerprint scanner like the Honor 9X, so we might get an in-display scanner like the ones present on OnePlus 7 Pro. The Honor 9X will be a mid-range device so it'll be interesting to see the pricing of the handset.

Last year's Honor 8X Max featured a massive 5000mAh battery, but this time around, we may not see the bigger battery on the Honor 9X Pro owing to its name. The Pro moniker will likely refer to the triple rear cameras and a slightly bigger battery.

Honor 9X India Launch Might Happen in September or October

As mentioned, Honor has already scheduled the Honor 9X launch event in China for July 23. The Honor 8X reached India in October 2018, so we might see the Honor 9X making into the sub-continent during September or October. The Honor 9X Pro may not make its way into the Indian market, but going the rumours, the Honor 9X seems to be an interesting device in the crowded mid-range segment.
