OnePlus made a major change in the smartphone industry by adding a 90Hz screen to a mainstream smartphone. OnePlus was the first company to offer an AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. Before OnePlus, we saw brands like Razer Phone 2 offering 120Hz refresh rate, but the company achieved it on an IPS panel. However, the OnePlus 7 Pro offers a 90Hz AMOLED screen which is a first in the industry. Very recently, Asus announced the ROG Phone 2 with 120Hz AMOLED display, beating OnePlus. The Chinese company OnePlus has now announced that all its future smartphones will ship with 'Fluid AMOLED' display technology. This essentially means the future OnePlus phones will come with displays with at least 90Hz refresh rate. And yes, OnePlus is calling this technology as 'Fluid AMOLED.'

OnePlus Confirms its Future Phones to Come With At least 90Hz Screens

To recall, OnePlus announced the OnePlus 7 Pro with 90Hz AMOLED screen earlier this year. Last week, it announced the OnePlus 7T with the same 90Hz screen, but this around, the display resolution is Full HD, unlike the Quad HD panel we saw on the OnePlus 7 Pro. Going forward, all the OnePlus panels will at least come with 90Hz refresh rate panels, which is a good thing for the industry. Right now, high refresh rate screens are limited to just gaming phones, besides the two OnePlus phones- the OnePlus 7 Pro and the OnePlus 7T.

The Asus ROG Phone 2 was recently announced in India and it packs a 120Hz AMOLED screen. For the unaware, the ROG Phone 2 is a proper gaming phone with all the bells and whistles required for delivering smooth gaming experience. However, the OnePlus 7T is a mainstream smartphone that costs Rs 37,999 and so does the OnePlus 7 Pro.

OnePlus will be launching the OnePlus 7T Pro at a Global Event in London on October 10. The OnePlus 7T Pro is also expected to feature a 90Hz panel, similar to the OnePlus 7T and the OnePlus 7 Pro. If the company increases the refresh rate to 120Hz, then it will take on the Asus ROG Phone 2 that costs over Euro 899 in the Western markets.

OnePlus 7T Announced in India: What it Offers?

The OnePlus 7T comes as an upgrade to the OnePlus 7 that was launched in India earlier this year. The OnePlus 7T features a 6.55-inch Full HD+ 90Hz AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and teardrop notch on top. Underneath, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset, clubbed with 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of onboard storage. The phone does not feature any microSD card slot for storage expansion.

The 7T also has triple rear camera system of 48MP+12MP+16MP, following by a 16MP front-facing camera. The camera setup on the OnePlus 7T is pretty much identical to the OnePlus 7 Pro, except for the telephoto sensor which is a 12MP one on the newly launched OnePlus 7T. The OnePlus 7T is also the first phone to boot Android 10 out of the box and the OnePlus 7T Pro will be the second phone as the Google Pixel 4 series is coming out on October 15.

Other features of the OnePlus 7T include an in-display fingerprint scanner, 3800mAh battery with WarpCharge 30T technology and the vibration motor has been updated as well. The OnePlus 7T starts at Rs 37,999 in India and it comes in two variants- 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB, priced at Rs 37,999 & Rs 39,999, respectively. The OnePlus 7T is already available for purchase in the country via Amazon India and there's a 10% discount offer available as well as part of the e-commerce portal's Great Indian Festival sale.
