Mobile services provider Aircel will offer free basic internet for its new customers in Jammu & Kashmir as it aims to fuel internet adoption in the state.
A considerable population of mobile phone users is still offline in the state, and with this package, all new prepaid customers will be able to browse and use their applications such as Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter, besides also accessing their daily need applications for banking and travel, utility bills payments, etc.
For Aircel’s existing subscribers, the company is providing unlimited 3G data at Rs 9 per day. Both these new offers are set to strengthen Aircel’s data products’ portfolio, and offer its subscribers with affordable internet.
Anil Gupta, Regional Business Head – North, Aircel, said, “We firmly believe that internet is for all and through our constant efforts of innovating products and services, we aim to make Aircel a gateway to the internet for many. Free Basic Internet was created with that thought and is in line with our promise of ‘doing a little extra’ for our subscribers. We’re confident that it will not only greatly ease the pockets of our new customers, but also help us fuel internet adoption in the state for those who still aren’t online.”
