According to our sources Idea will be the third mobile operator in the country to relaunch 3G data services through intra-circle roaming (ICR). Vodafone had launched their services on Friday and Airtel is launching tomorrow. Customers in Idea's non 3G circles have been receiving text messages about the availability. We have not received information about the tariffs but unconfirmed reports state that it will be on par with 3G circle tariffs.

With these relaunches the nationwide situation w.r.t. 3G has come back to pre-ICR ban era. Let's hope this triggers fierce competition, which in turn leads to improvement in quality of service and reasonable tariffs.
