AI in Elderly Care

Addressing a social need with over 30 million people in need of care in Europe, Circus says it leverages artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics for food service in care facilities.

Using its AI-based robots, Circus offers a solution that not only reduces the workload of workers but also ensures healthy and personalised nutrition. The robots use artificial intelligence to fully automatically prepare fresh meals daily, personalised to individual needs - from preparation to serving.

Circus' AI robots use artificial intelligence and machine learning to adapt to the nutritional needs and preferences of each user. "Whether it's diabetic food, lactose-free dishes or a high-protein diet - the robots create personalised menus and guarantee the highest quality and hygiene," the company explained.

"With our autonomous cooking robots, we are now creating time for the first customers in the care sector, such as Diakonie, for what really counts: human care," said Nikolas Bullwinkel, CEO of Circus SE.

Strategic Market Entry

With around 30 million people in need of care across Europe, the nursing and elderly care market is valued at over 500 billion euros. In Germany alone, there are around 4.5 million people requiring care, according to recent studies. The company stated on Friday that it is ideally positioned to serve this market with its technology, which is based on AI and robotics.

With its proprietary AI platform, CircusAI, and the world's first commercially viable AI robot in food service, CA-1, Circus says it is pioneering AI in food service to address industry-wide labor shortages.
