Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai welcomed the decision, describing it as a significant outcome of coordinated efforts to restore peace, security and development in previously disturbed areas. He said regions where stability has been achieved through sustained security operations and administrative coordination are now witnessing focused developmental initiatives, including the expansion of digital infrastructure, according to the report.
BSNL to Install 513 New 4G Towers
The new 4G towers will be installed through Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and are expected to provide reliable mobile and internet services to residents of far-flung and inaccessible areas, many of whom will gain connectivity for the first time.
The Chief Minister reportedly said enhanced digital access would strengthen the delivery of education, healthcare, employment opportunities, administrative services and emergency communication. He added that improved connectivity would also accelerate financial inclusion by enabling seamless access to banking services, direct benefit transfer schemes, UPI-based payments, insurance, pensions and other digital platforms.
Initiative Aligned with Centre’s Digital India Vision
The initiative aligns with the objectives of the Centre’s Digital India programme, which seeks to ensure last-mile delivery of development benefits. Sai reportedly said better connectivity would create new digital opportunities for local youth and provide a boost to the regional economy.
He noted that the Centre, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is prioritising development alongside security in Naxal-affected states. The Chhattisgarh government, he said, remains committed to working closely with the Centre to bring every citizen into the mainstream of development.
