BSNL revises voice STVs, cuts down free usage minutes

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced the revision of existing voice STVs 135, 159 and 201. Apart from the revision, BSNL has also introduced new voice STVs 56, 359 and 449. The new tariff will come into effect from June 20, 2016 on PAN India basis.

Voice STV 135 has been revised to offered 275 min local/STD to any network instead of 300 min with 28 days validity. While voice STV 159 revised to offer 20300 seconds to any network for 30 days instead of 365 min earlier. At the same time BSNL has also increased free usage available for voice STV 201 from 24000 sec to 26800 sec local/STD to any network with 28 days validity.

The new voice STV 56 offer 5600 sec to any network and comes with a validity of 8 days. Another new being introduced is voice STV 359 offering 52000 sec to any network for 60 days. Similarly, voice STV 449 offer 1400 min to any network and comes with a validity of 84 days.

BSNL has also announced that all existing prepaid mobile STVs validity will be revised from 'Days' to 'Calendar Days' from 1st July 2016 on PAN India basis. This would mean that the validity of STVs will be up to 23:59 Hours of last day of validity and first day of recharge would be counted as day one irrespective of time of recharge. In effect validity of all STVs will be reduced by one day.
