BSNL to Increase On-Net Free Calls from Fixed Phones, provide new STVs to Prepaid Mobile Users

By May 31st, 2014 AT 8:23 PM

After taking a series of revenue boosting measures in the form of rent increases, freebie reductions etc. BSNL is set to increase the number of free calls from Landlines/WLL (Fixed)/CDMA (Fixed), Rural/Urban Plans. However, with this revision, off-net free calls available earlier will be going away. Customers in most cases would be allowed free calls equal to the rent amount they pay on a monthly basis. These revisions will be applicable starting tomorrow, 01 June 2014  From July 2014.

For Prepaid Mobile Customers

A new 1 GB Data STV providing 30 days validity has been introduced:

Selection_088On the voice front, call rates for an existing STV will be hiked (starting tomorrow, 01 June 2014  From July 2014.)

Can anyone confirm if these changes are applicable all over India or just a select few circles?

I went to the BSNL Office today morning and their software is still showing 25 on net and 25 off net call for these plans (140 and 195).

Happy that surrendered my landline long ago. Charges were excess compared to cell phones and customer support was nil. And they have hiked rates for cell phones too but thats not a big matter as the hike is nominal(at least in case of 3G data).
