Indian telecom service provider Bharti Airtel has introduced Voice and SMS-only prepaid plans, as mandated by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). Notably, Airtel has not launched any new plans but has complied with the obligation by modifying existing plan components to meet TRAI's requirements. Let's quickly review the plans and offerings now available to Airtel customers in this segment.

1. Airtel Rs 509 Prepaid Plan
Airtel's Rs 509 prepaid plan now includes unlimited voice calls and 900 SMS messages, with a validity of 84 days. Additional Airtel Rewards include free content on the Airtel Xstream App, Apollo 24/7 Circle membership, and free Hello Tunes. According to Airtel, this Voice and SMS-only plan has an effective price of approximately Rs 167 per month. Previously, this plan also included 6GB of data.
2. Airtel Rs 1,999 Prepaid Plan
For Airtel users seeking a long-term or yearly plan, the Rs 1,999 yearly plan offers unlimited voice calls and 3,600 SMS messages, valid for 365 days. Additional Airtel Rewards include free content on the Airtel Xstream App, Apollo 24/7 Circle membership, and free Hello Tunes. Previously, this plan also came bundled with 24GB of data.

Conclusion
Airtel has removed the bundled data benefits from these existing plans, maintaining their pricing in the market while contributing to its near-term Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) target of Rs 300. This can be seen as a tariff adjustment targeting the higher pricing segment. All of the above prepaid plans come with the Spam Fighting Network solution integrated.
