Recently, we reported that Airtel had added 150 new Live TV channels to the Airtel TV application, which took the total channel count over 300 channels. Currently, Airtel TV has over 29 HD channels and more than 6000 movies and popular shows. Furthermore, Airtel also added a large catalogue of regional content in the latest app update.

Bharti Airtel also announced that both Airtel prepaid and postpaid customers could enjoy free subscription of Airtel TV until June 2018. That said, Airtel customers need to download the Airtel TV application from Google Play Store or Apple App Store for free and login with their mobile number.

“We are thrilled to introduce the latest version of Airtel TV with great content and an improved, intuitive User Interface. The improvements to the app are a result of constantly listening to our customers and taking their feedback to the design table. We believe that we have built an app for India’s needs and backed it with a large and exciting content catalogue to serve the fastest growing screen – the smartphone,” said Sameer Barta, CEO, Wynk.

The Live TV channels include offerings across GEC, Movies, News and Infotainment genres from the stables of Zee, Sony, NDTV, Gemini, Sun TV and others. The application offers content in 15 languages- English, Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bhojpuri, Assamese, Odia, French and Urdu.

Airtel has partnered with content providers such as Eros Now, SonyLIV, and HOOQ, allowing users to choose content from over 6000 Hollywood and Bollywood movies, Regional Indian films, along with a host of Indian and International TV shows.

Lastly, we have the Scroll Back feature on the Airtel TV, which is similar to the Catch Up TV feature. With this feature, Airtel users can log into the application and watch the already telecasted Live TV shows.

In the next few months, Airtel TV would surely catch up with Reliance JioTV and Vodafone Play in terms of features and Live TV channel count.
