Bharti Airtel has been successful in building a solid brand throughout the years. It is really the only telco that truly survived the market post the arrival of Reliance Jio in 2016. All the other operators went out of business because of the loss in market share, while Vodafone and Idea Cellular had to merge to keep running. Things haven’t been good for the other operators apart from Jio as they have tons of dues in their books. But despite all the dues that Bharti Airtel has, it is all set for a smooth future ahead.
Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio Will Continue to Rule Market
Until and unless something charismatic happens and either Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) or Vodafone Idea (Vi) dramatically start growing rapidly, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio will keep ruling the market. This is because both the operators have built trust with their subscribers, and the other companies are just struggling to stay afloat.
Bharti Airtel is making profits. Yes, the telco’s profits narrowed in the first quarter of FY22, but the important thing to note here is that it is still making profits. If it was a loss, it would have been a totally different story. As long as a company is making profits, the industry, its lenders, and the government feel secure.
Analysts predict that Bharti Airtel’s stock is only going to rise from here. This is because of two reasons. First, if the government comes out with a relief package, Airtel will be able to use it to its benefit quite well. Second, if Vodafone Idea goes under, Airtel will be able to acquire most of its 2G subscribers who can’t shift to Reliance Jio if they don’t have a 4G smartphone.
Bharti Airtel has a ton of adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues it needs to pay, but the telco wouldn’t be a lot worried since things are playing out just fine for it.
