Asus has officially announced price drops on three smartphones- the Zenfone Max Pro M1, the Zenfone Max M1 and the Zenfone Max M2. All the variants of the Max Pro M1 and the Max M2 received a price cut of Rs 500 in the country, whereas the Zenfone Max M1 received a price cut of Rs 1,000. After the price cut, the Max Pro M1 and the Max M2 start at Rs 7,499, while the Max M1 can be picked up for just Rs 5,999. The new prices are already effective on Flipkart starting today. Asus did not announce any price cut on the Zenfone Max Pro M2 and we are not sure whether the Taiwanese brand is still manufacturing the handset because it has been out of stock for more than six months now.

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 Now Starts at Rs 7,499: Should You Buy it Now?

The Zenfone Max Pro M1 was probably the best phone Asus launched in recent times. Launched back in April 2018, the Max Pro M1 still packs a punch when it comes to hardware, especially at the price of Rs 7,499. After the latest price cut, the Max Pro M1's base variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage costs Rs 7,499. The variant with 4GB+64GB storage is now priced at Rs 8,499, and lastly, the premium variant of the phone with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage costs Rs 11,499.

To recall, the Zenfone Max Pro M1 has a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display on the front with 18:9 aspect ratio. Underneath, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset, paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There's a dedicated microSD card slot as well for storage expansion. The Zenfone Max Pro M1 rocks dual cameras on the back- 13MP+5MP (on 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB variants) and 16MP+5MP setup can be found on the 6GB+64GB model. The Max Pro M1 is backed by a 5000mAh battery and it runs a stock version of Android 9 Pie. Asus already promised that it would roll out Android 10 update to the Max Pro M1.

Comparing to the smartphones released in 2019, the Max Pro M1 still has the upper hand in terms of the hardware. For example, the Snapdragon 636 SoC is better than the Snapdragon 632 we get on the Xiaomi Redmi 7 and it's arguably the best chipset one can get under Rs 8,000. We also have the Realme 3i smartphone with MediaTek Helio P60 chipset, but the Max Pro M1 also stands tall in the segment with incredible battery life. If you're planning to purchase a phone which can deliver stellar battery life, then you can still consider the Max Pro M1.

Asus Zenfone Max M1 and Max M2 Also Received Price Cuts

Besides the Max Pro M1, Asus also reduced the prices of Zenfone Max M1 and the Zenfone Max M2 smartphones by up to Rs 1,000. The Asus Zenfone Max M1 with Snapdragon 430 chipset and 3GB of RAM now costs just Rs 5,999. If not for the Xiaomi Redmi 8A at Rs 6,499, the Max M1 would have ruled the sub-Rs 6,000 segment. Lastly, the Zenfone Max M2 with Snapdragon 632 chipset is available at a starting price of Rs 7,499. The 3GB+32GB model of Max M2 is priced at Rs 7,499 and the 4GB+64GB model is already retailing for Rs 8,999.
