Asus Zenfone 5Z Price in India Cut, Now Starts at Rs 21,999

Taiwanese smartphone brand, Asus, has reduced the price of its 2018 flagship smartphone, the Asus Zenfone 5Z. The smartphone which was launched at a starting price of Rs 29,999 is now available for purchase at Rs 21,999. The Zenfone 5Z is exclusive to Flipkart in India and it's unknown whether the price drop is a permanent one or a temporary one. Gadgets360 reports that the price reduction of Zenfone 5Z is a temporary one and it'll be back to original price post the offer period on June 21. For the asking price of Rs 21,999, the Zenfone 5Z is a decent buy as it offers glass build, Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6GB of RAM on the base variant and more. Before this price drop, the Asus Zenfone 5Z's base variant was available for Rs 24,999, so it's a Rs 3,000 price drop for a temporary period.

Asus Zenfone 5Z Gets Cheaper in India

Right now, the prices of the Asus Zenfone 5Z for the 6GB+128GB variant is Rs 21,999, while the variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage costs Rs 25,999. Before the price drop, the same variants were selling for Rs 24,999 and Rs 29,999 respectively. The phone is available for purchase in two colour options- Meteor Silver and Midnight Blue. The Zenfone 5Z's 64GB variant is currently out of stock, but it seems like the company has phased out the base variant to go head on with the Poco F1.

For the unaware, the Poco F1 with Snapdragon 845 SoC now starts at just Rs 17,999. The base variant of Poco F1 ships with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage, while the 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage model is selling for Rs 20,999. So the difference between the 6GB+128GB variants of Poco F1 and Asus Zenfone 5Z is just Rs 1,000 right now. The Zenfone 5Z is a good smartphone compared to the Poco F1 because of the additional features like the glass body, slightly better cameras and a good display.

Asus Zenfone 5Z: Specifications and Features

The Zenfone 5Z is the company's 2019 flagship smartphone and it arrived with Snapdragon 845 SoC. The phone rocks a 6.2-inch Full HD+ display on the front and comes with up to 8GB of RAM. At the rear side, the Zenfone 5Z rocks dual cameras of 12MP+8MP and an 8MP front-facing camera. The phone runs Android 9 Pie-based ZenUI out of the box and it's backed by a 3300mAh battery.

In other news, Asus has launched the Asus 6Z in the sub-continent yesterday which sports a flip camera module comprising of a 48MP primary sensor. Underneath, it's powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone rocks a whopping 5000mAh battery and the pricing starts at Rs 31,999 in India.
