Italian cloud and data center operator Aruba has unveiled its new hyperscale data center campus in Rome. Covering an area of 74,000 square meters within the Tecnopolo Tiburtino technical center, the Hyper Cloud Data Center (IT4) is the largest data center campus in Rome and the first Rating 4 ANSI/TIA 942-C-2024 data center in South Central Italy, the company said.

Aruba Launches IT4
At full capacity, the facility will include five independent data center buildings, each offering 6 MW of IT power, for a total of 30 MW, all powered by renewable energy sources.
"We are inaugurating the IT4 Hyper Cloud Data Center, the largest data center campus in Rome—a strategic, innovative, and hyper-connected infrastructure that serves as a driving force for the capital as a digital hub for the Centre-South and the Mediterranean," Aruba shared on LinkedIn.

Interconnected with Key Campuses
According to the website, all systems have a redundancy level of 2N or higher, meeting the requirements of the Rating 4 ANSI/TIA-942 international infrastructure quality standard. The Hyper Cloud Data Center in Rome (IT4) is also designed to comply with key ISO standards regarding safety, environmental impact, and service quality.
Connected to major Internet backbones, it boasts multiple interconnections with the Arezzo campus (IT1 and IT2) and the Global Cloud Data Center (IT3), the company said.
