Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today announced AP Fiber Grid, which is the government’s ambitious project to connect every household in the state with high-speed broadband at affordable prices. Today, the project went official, and all the details are officially unveiled. So, the AP Fiber Grid plans offer three services- wired broadband service, television service, and telephone service for voice calls.

At the time of the announcement, the AP Government announced that they are aiming to connect 1.3 crore households, 10,000 government offices, 50,000 schools, and 5,000 public health centers by 2018. The government has deployed over 23,800 km of Optical Fiber Cable across 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh along with 2,464 substations.
Like I stated, the AP Fiber Grid offers triple-play services, and all the services come bundled with a single pack. The government has unveiled three AP Fiber Grid plans for normal users and three plans for institutions and private offices. Also, the AP State government created Andhra Pradesh State FiberNet Limited (APSFL) to take care of works of AP Fiber Grid.
The monthly rental plans for households and institutions are divided into three types- Basic, Standard, Premium. The plans for households start at just Rs 149 and goes up to Rs 599. The Fiber Grid Basic plan of Rs 149 offers download speed of 15 Mbps up to 5GB; the Fiber Grid Standard Plan also offers 15 Mbps download speed up to 25GB, and lastly, the Fiber Grid Premium plan gives high-speed data of 50GB at 15 Mbps. All the three plans offer after FUP unlimited data at 1 Mbps. The Standard Plan costs Rs 399, and the premium plan costs Rs 599.
