India's largest mobile operator Airtel is going to launch its 3G mobile and data services with in a week. However the launch date is not announced by the operator.
But we believe launch will take place on 26 or 27th January 2011 and Airtel is also holding a press conference on 24th at 11:30 am which we believe is expected to be a 3G launch in Bangalore circle.So now we have to wait and watch if is going to be a circle wise launch or Pan India launch.
Mr. Sanjay Kapoor,CEO, Bharti Airtel, today said that "We will make the announcement for the commercial launch of our 3G service in next six to seven days,details will be announced soon.
Recently,Telecom Ministry and The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) permitted 3G Video call services on private mobile networks ,subject to an undertaking by operators that they would provide interception capability by 31st July,2011.
Bharti had won 3G spectrum for 13 telecom circles which includes key metros such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. Airtel has deployed high speed HSPA networks provided by Ericsson, Nokia Siemens Network and Huawei.
Presently state operator BSNL and MTNL providing 3G service in more than 700 cities across the country. Besides, Tata Docomo and Reliance Communication (Rcom) had launched 3G services in some telecom circles.
