Bharti Airtel today announced its newly launched prepaid plan of Rs 599 for New Delhi customers as well. Announced back in September 2019, Airtel's brand new Rs 599 recharge was available only in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry areas. But the company today announced the plan for New Delhi prepaid users as well. The highlight of this new prepaid plan from Bharti Airtel is the Rs 4 lakh life insurance bundle. Airtel already has a Rs 249 prepaid plan which comes with Rs 4 lakh insurance cover, but the Rs 599 plan is a premium version of the same. Airtel announced this plan in partnership with Bharti AXA Life and other benefits of the plan include 2GB daily data, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMSes per day for 84 days.

Airtel Rs 599 Prepaid Plan Offers 168GB Data for 84 Days

Bharti Airtel has been trying its best to differentiate itself in the prepaid segment. Airtel has some of the unique prepaid plans like Rs 299 that offers one month of Amazon Prime subscription, Rs 249 prepaid plan which ships with life insurance cover, and now, the Rs 599 plan joins the list. Having said that, the Rs 599 plan is just a premium version of the Rs 249 recharge from Bharti Airtel.

As for the benefits, the Rs 599 recharge from Airtel ships with unlimited voice calling without any FUP limit, 100 SMSes per day and 2GB daily data totalling at 168GB. In addition, Bharti Airtel has partnered Bharti AXA Life to offer Rs 4 lakh life insurance cover to the prepaid users. The new announcement from Airtel means the Rs 599 plan will be available in a total of three areas now- Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and New Delhi.

The Rs 599 recharge comes with a validity of 84 days and the insurance cover continues automatically for three months with every recharge. The same case applies to Rs 249 prepaid plan as well.

Airtel Rs 599 Recharge or Rs 558 Prepaid Plan: Which is Better?

Bharti Airtel is currently offering a wide range of unlimited combo plans starting at just Rs 97. Airtel has the best data plan priced at Rs 558 as it ships with 3GB daily data for 82 days from the date of the recharge. The Airtel Rs 558 plan is already popular amongst the company's prepaid users, but the telco is not promoting the plan heavily.

For the unaware, the Rs 558 prepaid recharge from Bharti Airtel ships with 3GB daily data (total of 246GB data), unlimited voice calling and 100 SMSes per day. The validity of the plan is 82 days which is identical to the Rs 599 prepaid plan.

Keeping the life insurance cover aside, the Rs 558 is a better value for money plan compared to the Rs 599 prepaid plan. Also, the former is available across all the 22 telecom circles where Bharti Airtel is operating right now, whereas the latter is available only in three areas for now. The Rs 558 plan from Airtel is aimed at the heavy data users as the total data benefit offered by the plan is a whopping 246GB. The Rs 599 recharge brings life insurance cover to the table, but again, better data benefit with Rs 558 plan attracts a lot of users.

Nevertheless, Airtel is pretty much clear at whom it's targeting the Rs 599 prepaid plan. That said, there's now the choice for New Delhi Airtel prepaid customers to get life insurance cover for three months.
