Aircel has hiked its base data tariff in Mumbai circle from the previous 10p/10KB to 15P/10KB. This revision in the 2G tariff is currently implemented only in the Mumbai circle and the chances are that it might be done on a PAN India basis pretty soon.
The rise in the tariff maybe be considered insignificant as most of us subscribe to a data pack wherein we can browse for a fraction of the price but the fact here is that Telcos for the first time are trying to get subscribers increase their data usage.

Airtel along with other prominent operators has already increased the 3G Tariff by reducing the validity of the packs. Mobile 3G users can be sure of raising data tariff costs as most of the Telcos are gearing up to hike the data tariff as the mobile data driven revenues are constantly rising for the operators.
