Performance Metrics of Reinvention-Ready Companies
According to the report, these "reinvention-ready" companies are outperforming their peers, achieving 2.5x higher revenue growth, 2.4x greater productivity, and 3.3x better success in scaling AI use cases. Generative AI is being used across key areas like IT (75 percent), marketing (64 percent), and customer service (59%), finance (58 percent), R&D (34 percent) and other core functions.
However, 64 percent of companies still face significant challenges, such as underdeveloped data foundations and difficulties in scaling AI projects. Additionally, 82 percent of companies have not implemented a talent reinvention strategy to upskill workers for AI-driven operations, with many executives (78 percent) worried that AI is evolving faster than training efforts can keep up.
Challenges in Scaling AI Initiatives
"Most executives understand the urgency of reinventing with generative AI, but in many cases their enterprise operations are not ready to support large scale transformation," said Arundhati Chakraborty, group chief executive of Accenture Operations.
"Generative AI is more than the technology. It is a driver of a mindset change that impacts the entire enterprise. It requires organisations to have a strong digital core, data strategy and a well-defined roadmap to change the way they operate. Additionally, an end-to-end perspective leveraging talent, leading practices and effective collaboration between business and technology teams is essential for intelligent operations."
Accenture's report recommends a four-step approach for businesses to advance: modernising data governance, adopting a talent-first strategy, fostering collaboration between business and tech teams, and using cloud-based tools to drive process improvements.
