Located 40 km west of Billund Airport, the DEN02 campus is positioned with excellent connectivity due to nearby trans-Atlantic fiber cables, the company said. The site, spanning 174 hectares, will be built modularly to meet demand and will incorporate advanced energy efficiency measures, including heat reuse technologies.

"Our DEN02 site is truly a blueprint for future data centers," commented atNorth's CEO. "The highly energy-efficient design, including its state-of-the-art heat reuse technologies, coupled with the advantageous location in Denmark and our dedication to sustainability, exemplifies innovation in our industry. It will be an ideal location for hyperscalers and AI businesses looking to decarbonise their high-performance workloads."

Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Measures

In line with its sustainability goals, atNorth said it has partnered with Wa3rm to recycle excess heat from DEN02 into large-scale greenhouses and provide heating and hot water for local communities.

The company is also exploring the possibility of attracting sustainable power production in the form of wind and solar energy farms around the site, aligning with Denmark's goal of a low-carbon society by 2050.
